Washed up on Turtle Island as a toddler, Ariki has always felt different from the other children. But there's somewhere she belongs heart and soul: the sea, where she plays with dolphins, sharks, whales and turtles. One day Ariki catches sight of a strange creature in the water, bigger than any she's seen before - soon after, an enormous shark tooth is found on the sand. When a group of giant sharks start circling the shore, the island's fishermen are too afraid to go out to sea, but - without fish - the people will starve. Can Ariki save the day?

Ariki and the Giant Shark Ariki is a stranger girl from a different Island She cared for loads of sea creatures. She came along a nichiu(shark) and when that happened it changed her life! When I first heard of this story I wasn't very keen on it but the part that really mattered was the ending. I can't lie, it's a great book. Each time my Dad read it to me I wanted more and more and more! My opinion is, this does not have your one, is it's a wonderful book and I cannot wait to read the second book! My favorite bits were when Pilo was like “then can we eat the piglet” and Ariki was like ”NO!” it was definitely one of the best books I ever read! SPOILER ALERT Her guardian is very strict until she showed Ipo the pictures and then Ipo showed Arohaka the pictures. (Arohaka is Ariki’s Guardian)and the shark pups are so cute. This what the shark said ”when the dolphin gets a yellow eye I will have pups, I need human help, they will help” or something like that. I don't remember, ok!!
