One of the most astoundingly brilliant works of literature to come out of the past century, if any one person doubts comic books as a medium for great storytelling I am sure watchmen will change their minds. The depth of the world combined with a great set of characters who all go through an incredibly interesting and engaging series of conflicts takes the superhero genre to a whole new level, questioning the very nature of the genre with it's dark, gritty and realistic tone. Watchmen is a must read and will forever be one of the great works of the 20th century.
